Mehmet Çelebi, who met baklava makers in the cities of Damascus and Aleppo during the Hejaz journey on camels, decided to bring with them the perfect taste that would spread around the world over the years. Upon his return to Antep, Hacı Mehmet Çelebi, together with his son Mahmut, implemented the baklava profession they learned in Damascus in the small shop he kept in Gaziantep Uzunçarşı, and transformed it into art by combining the intricacies of baklava making with his own talent and quality materials.

In the years when Hacı Mehmet Çelebi introduced baklava to the people of Antep, there was no other baklava restaurant in the city, and this taste, which people had just met in their modest lives, was considered very luxurious. After the death of Hacı Mehmet Çelebi, his son Hacı Mahmut Güllü continued his father's profession and started making original baklava from thin dough rolled out one by one with a rolling pin. Now the name of baklava, along with the "Güllü family", as "Antep Baklava" and "Güllü's son's baklava", reached the palaces and mansions of the capital Istanbul in the Ottoman geography and was greatly appreciated.

Hacı Mahmut Güllü made incredible efforts to turn baklava making into a tradition in the Güllü family and raised his four sons (Sait, Mustafa, Ali and Mahmut) as baklava makers. Hacı Mustafa Güllü, one of the sons of Hacı Mahmut Güllü, took the professional legacy he received from his father further and handed it over to his son Hacı Halit Güllü, one of the 4th generation individuals. Efkan Güllü, one of Halit Güllü's sons, took up baklava making as a profession, like other family members, and after his university education, he started to pursue this art, which he has been interested in since childhood.
