Gaziantep became the 9th city on the UNESCO list

The city of Gaziantep, famous for its cuisine, was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, which aims to develop international cooperation within and between cities that have identified creativity as a strategic actor of economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainable development, thus supporting UNESCO's ideals of cultural diversity.

As the first Turkish city in the Creative Cities Network, Gaziantep became one of the 17 cities in the world in the field of "Gastronomy".

A reception was held in Paris by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in April 2015 to promote Gaziantep cuisine. The process, carried out with intensive work by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality with the support of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, was concluded successfully.
